A great way to think about your dashboards and scorecards is to break them into components. There are three main elements to a dashboard:
Metrics: A dashboard's building blocks. Metrics power your dashboard and are responsible for the information displayed. Here are some examples of metrics you can build in Rekener.
Panels: A collection of metrics, frequently related to one another (A common example is to have task metrics like calls and emails grouped with opportunities created and pipeline created). Multiple metrics can appear on a single panel. There are several panel types to choose from, including grid (a spreadsheet-type view with rows and columns) and combo (metrics + graph).
Layout: One or more panels, appearing together on a single screen view. You can have multiple layouts. To learn more about how to change layouts, click here.
Let's review how to easily change metrics, dates and panel names. We'll also detail how to download any graph appearing on a layout.
Changing Panel Metrics
Change metrics by clicking the wrench on any panel and choosing "Change Metrics." A new screen with two columns will appear. "Metrics shown" provides a list of the metrics currently displaying in a panel. "Metrics not shown" lists the metrics not currently displayed that can be brought into a panel.
Click the red trash can to remove a metric from a panel. Click on a metric name to move a metric from the "not shown" to the "shown" group.
Changing A Panel Date Range
Changing dates lets you quickly compare panel data based on different cohorts. You may also decide you need a larger or smaller date range for a particular. To start, click the calendar icon on any panel to change the date.
There are two options:
Rolling Dates: These are pre-defined timeframes. Rekener offers 35+ cohorts to choose from, like Current Month, Current Quarter, and Yesterday. Rolling dates are a great option when you need frequently-used cohorts, like those mentioned above.
Static Dates: Static dates let you get highly specific with timeframes. Simply click static dates and configure your start and end dates on the calendar. Want to examine performance from January 1 - February 28? Rekener's Static Dates allow you to easily get the data you need.
Renaming A Panel
Panel names are an awesome way to quickly identify a panel's "theme". Names like Sales Velocity and Opportunity Profile help users know, at-a-glance, the type of data they're viewing. Rekener recommends unique names for all your panels. To change a panel name, you'll click on a panel's wrench icon and then select Change Panel Name.
Downloading a PNG
Users can download any chart on a panel as a PNG file. Once downloaded, charts are easily incorporated into PowerPoint files, Word files, etc. To download any chart, click on the wrench and then click on "Download PNG."
