The Marketo integration with Rekener will pull in data from your Marketo leads and activities, and attach that data to your accounts in the Rekener Platform. This will let you see information like Web Visits, Page Views, and Email Clicks, by account in Rekener. You can also create custom metrics using Marketo data. For example, you can track views of specific webpages, or submissions of particular forms.
- To connect Marketo to the Rekener Platform, you will need Admin privileges on your Rekener Platform user (user privileges can be set on the Settings --> Users page).
- You will also need to have a valid login to your Marketo instance.
- To connect Marketo, navigate to the Settings --> Integrations page, and click "add integration". A drop down will appear, select "Marketo"
Creating a web service in Marketo requires that you have an API-only Marketo user created. You may already have an API-only user created. If that’s the case, you may skip to the “Setting up the Web Service in Marketo” section. If you don’t have an API-only user yet, first navigate to the Admin section in Marketo.
Click on “Users & Roles” in the panel on the left and create a New Role.
Create a role with “Access API” privileges.
The next step is to create an API-Only user and associate it with the API role that you created in the previous step. Start by clicking Users → Invite New User.
Associate your new user with the API role that you created. You can do so by checking the API-Only user checkbox at the time of user creation.
Setting up the Web Service in Marketo
Go to the Admin → LaunchPoint screen and create a New Service.
Name the integration “Rekener”, choose “Custom” Service type, provide Description, and use the user email address associated with your API-only Marketo user.
Now that your Web Service is set up, you can collect the required information and paste it into Rekener. Start by going into Launchpoint, and clicking “View Details” of the web service you just created.
The Marketo Client Id and Marketo Client Secret can be copied from the Web Service Details and pasted into the Integrations page in Rekener.
To get the Marketo Rest Endpoint URL and the Marketo Identity URL, click on Web Services, and scroll down to the information on the REST API.
Once these four pieces of information are pasted into Rekener, you may click “Save Changes”, and Rekener will begin downloading your Marketo data. It may take more than a day to download all the historical data from Marketo.
